How to Make Mondays NOT Suck #23

How to Make Mondays NOT Suck is a strategic and sometimes satirical mini-series that will make your Mondays less …sucky.

If this is your first time embarking on a Make Mondays NOT Suck (#MMNS) journey, we suggest that read this first. With that being said, let’s face it- we all know that Mondays Suck!

Why Does This Monday Suck? (Click here to tell us why yours does!)

The weather up here in New England continues to be absolutely perfect conditions for basically any outdoor task.

It’s tough to concede yourself back to your cubicle after a great weekend enjoying life, family, golf and beers. The walk to work was tough and you almost thought about ‘skipping class’ as you felt the arm of the sun pat you on the back just like your college roommate, “C’mon dude, let’s just go hike Mt. Monadnock.” Speaking of college, can’t we just go back? The days where our Philosophy professor would surprise us and say, “Don’t get too comfortable in here class, we’re headed out to the Quad”, as he prepares his notes for his lesson on the Allegora of The Cave.

How to Make Mondays NOT Suck THIS WEEK

As always we like to start out with a quick peruse of today’s Morning Coffee Thoughts from Post Grad Problems: ALL CAPS, satirical, tongue in cheek tonality and great mantras. You really cant go wrong here:

Meeting a Friend for Lunch

Today’s article is somewhat of an extension of last week’s and that’s only because we’re limited on time (After all we’ve got to meet a friend!)

Check out this quote from the article: “The Importance of Eating Together”

..Eating alone can be alienating. The dinner table can act as a unifier, a place of community. Sharing a meal is an excuse to catch up and talk, one of the few times where people are happy to put aside their work and take time out of their day.

  • Add in a little walk like we are today and multiply the benefits of a lunch across town!
  • Great opportunity to meet new people in a new setting
  • Great opportunity to talk over new ideas, and really get the gears turning
  • As we mentioned last week, removing yourself from your desk/place of work even for a half an hour will really help to get you through the day.

Now go on, go do something different! Go meet a friend, or dare I say? Go make a new one!

And don’t forget to vent to us about why your Monday Sucks, because just like this tweet (follow us on twitter here) describes, we STILL think that Mondays generally suck.

Shooters shoot, and closers close. Go out there and crush this week.

You’re right. Now take me back to the Make Mondays NOT Suck Archives

“Nah I’m good, take me back to Manifest!”
